Circumnavigate Skye from the Broadford Hotel
Start your voyage around the Isle of Skye with a night at The Broadford Hotel - first class service and delicious cuisine in the south east of the island.
Spend two days exploring the coastline of Skye and it's satellite islands in your exclusive private charter boat, fast and comfortable but small enough to go in close and get you ashore when you want.
Your skipper keeps you safe, informed, and entertained as you discover vistas and wildlife that are inaccessible to landlubbers.
Your first day in the boat takes you half-way around the island to a luxury hotel or guest-house of your choice.
You rejoin the boat the next morning to continue on your voyage of discovery.
The scenery is inspiring and ever-changing. Sea-cliffs and mountains give way to intimate bays and sea-lochs, revealing insights of lives lived, past and present.
Wildlife is abundant - eagles, puffins, gannets, seals, basking sharks, dolphins, whales, otters, and much more.
Isle of Skye Ferry
During the course of the 20th century, the ferries situated at Ballachulish on Loch Leven; at Dornie on Loch Long; and at Kyle of Lochalsh for those bound for the Isle of Skye, were all replaced by bridges. The ancient ferry at Dornie was replaced by a toll-bridge in 1940. Ballachulish ferry was to follow in 1975.
The Kyle of Lochalsh ferry was made redundant when the Skye Bridge opened in 1995.
But, despite all this 'progress', one can still sail "over the sea to Skye" on the ferry from Glenelg!
The service operates seasonally from Easter to October.
